In early 2009, over 20 project ideas were submitted as part of the University of Iowa Fogarty programs Call for Proposals. Thirteen of these proposals were selected for a grant-writing workshop to be held as part of the Summer Institute in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, from June 1-3.
